WHO/Europe is aiming to raise the profile of physical activity as a health determinant in the WHO European Region. Europe’s biggest event promoting health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA Europe) in 2022 is scheduled to be held in Nice, France from 31 August-2 September, bringing researchers and policy-makers together.
HEPA Europe is a WHO network which aims to provide a forum for the advancement of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) research, policy and practice across the WHO European Region. This year, the focus of the conference is an ecosystem approach to promoting health-enhancing physical activity. Conference topics include HEPA policy, physical activity surveillance, active transport, sport, determinants of physical activity, health outcomes, sedentary behaviour and many other relevant and innovative topics.
The objective of the conference is to bring policy-makers, professionals, scientists, citizens and other stakeholders together to engage in the field of HEPA promotion. European policy-makers will be represented by mayors from selected cities in the Region and members of the European Union national HEPA focal points network. The conference will provide a unique opportunity to connect these participants. It will also serve as a platform for experts and decision-makers to meet, network and discuss the latest HEPA developments in Europe and beyond, to inspire and inform evidence-based policy-making.
WHO invite you to register for the conference and submit an abstract. You may also consider applying for the Early Career Research Award which aims to recognize the research of early career professionals, with a focus on research with clear links to HEPA policy. Please visit the website.
