Auto-mobile speed sterilises streets.

The main reason is danger - fear and the right perception that vehicular speed kills.

Many studies have proven that impacts of more than one tone at more than 30 km/h into a pedestrian or a cyclist are very likely to kill. Speed limits of 30 km/h (20 mph) save lives. And reduces noise. And reduces fuel consumption. And reduces fear...And...

All excellent reasons to organise an European Citizen Initiative: an enormous number of civic organisations throughout Europe are urging citizens to sign an initiative on-line. To be successful it will be necessary more than one million signatures!

The initiative: 30 km/h shall become the standard speed limits for villages, towns and cities with local authorities being able to decide on exemptions.
